At the Data Space Symposium 2025
The AD4GD team is back from the Data Spaces Symposium 2025 in Warsaw, feeling inspired and energized. The event, themed “Share data. Unlock Value. Boost Impact.,” was a major gathering for the data space community and a fantastic opportunity for us to share our vision for the European Green Deal Data Space.
As a proud sponsor of the symposium, we were thrilled to see the strong focus on accelerating the green transition through data. It was clear from the discussions that data spaces are seen as critical accelerators for achieving the ambitious goals of the Green Deal.
Championing Geospatial Data Standards
A highlight for us was the presentation by our coordinator, Joan Masó from CREAF. He spoke during the Energy & Green Deal domain session, delivering a key talk on “Integrating geospatial data standards in the data spaces.”
Joan’s presentation stressed the critical need to incorporate robust geospatial standards into the foundational architecture of data spaces. He argued that doing so is essential for ensuring that data from diverse sources, like satellite observations, in-situ sensors, and citizen science, can be seamlessly shared and utilized for environmental monitoring and decision-making. The session sparked a great discussion on making the Green Deal a reality through data.
A Hub for Collaboration
Throughout the symposium, we were stationed at the Green Deal Data Space Booth. It served as a central point for us to showcase the latest results from the AD4GD project and to connect with partners, stakeholders, and other experts. We had many engaging conversations and were excited to see the high level of interest in our work.
The Data Spaces Symposium was a testament to the power of collaboration. We left Warsaw with new connections and a reinforced commitment to our mission. By working together and championing open standards, we can build the data infrastructure needed to power a sustainable future for all.
